The practice is committed to achieving high quality buildings that maximise a site's or a building's full potential. We have an acknowledged reputation for winning successful planning consents on difficult and contentious sites, and have long-standing working relationships with firms of planning consultants, barristers, and esteemed architectural historians.
Over the years we have established strong links with the planning departments of many local authorities, as well as many developer clients who put their trust in us on successive projects. Our 'track record' page shows examples of consents that we have achieved with various local authorities.
Unlike many other practices, Charlton Brown Architects positively avoids a 'house' style, preferring to fit every building to a client's individual requirements, deadlines and budget.
Our architectural projects include substantial new houses and the renovation of period listed buildings for both private clients and developers. We have also built large commercial developments of offices and light industrial complexes, plus estate housing for house builders and local authorities.
We run projects from their inception to their completion, often beginning with advising clients before a site or property is purchased by drawing a feasibility study showing the site's or building's potential. After obtaining planning consent, we work with leading firms of structural engineers, mechanical engineers, quantity surveyors and tried and tested building contractors to realise projects, providing a one-stop-shop for our clients.
